- I graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1981 with a B.A. in Advertising with a minor in Commercial Art. I then graduated from the University of Mississippi with a M.A. in Journalism in 1990. I have over 30 years experience in journalism and public relations. I have over 18 years in higher education (University of Mississippi, Mississippi College, Western Kentucky University, Volunteer State Community College). In addition to an Assistant Professor of Communication-Journalism at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tenn., I also advise the weekly student newspaper, The Settler, and the student magazine, The Pioneer.
